Epic Games is partnering with Ferrari to introduce the new 296 GTB hybrid sports car in Fortnite — making history as the game’s first highly realistic drivable real-life car, along with three Ferrari-inspired Quests for players to test their driving skills, as well as a variety of new Item Shop offerings.
Ferrari has partnered with Epic Games to bring more than 90 years of innovation and the dream of Italian racing excellence to Fortnite players using Unreal Engine.
Today, Ferrari introduces its new 296 GTB hybrid sports car in Fortnite, making history as the game’s first highly realistic, drivable vehicle.
This collaboration is more than what meets the eye, building on Ferrari’s long-standing relationship with Epic Games as an early adopter of Unreal Engine for design visualization, virtual production, and its state-of-the-art 296 GTB car configurator.
Real-time technology is changing the way that cars are designed, built, and sold. The automotive industry uses Unreal Engine for numerous steps of the process: concept and iterative design, manufacturing, sales and marketing, training autonomous vehicles, infotainment, human-machine interface (HMI), driving simulators, and more.
Unreal Engine is also a go-to platform for digital twins because it delivers the precision, quality, and fidelity that car manufacturers need when establishing ‘single source of truth’ digital vehicle assets.
