The VFX Festival 2022 Goes Hybrid

Escape Studio will hold the event’s 10th edition both online and in person, featuring talks, presentations, and career advice aimed at students, emerging talent, and industry professionals; the festival runs March 8-10.

The VFX Festival, hosted by Escape Studios, returns March 8-10, 2022, for its 10th edition. The hybrid event will be hosted at Escape Studios in central London, with limited ticket availability. It will also be delivered live online to provide access for a global audience.

The festival brings together the creative community and emerging artists to explore the industry, expand their knowledge, and delve into the latest opportunities presented by the metaverse. It will include insights into award-winning productions, expert-led presentations, career advice, as well as the latest trends, technology, and innovation from around the world.

This year’s festival will feature the following:

The VFX Festival EDU – Tuesday, March 8

For school and college students (under 18-year-olds): learn about the world of visual effects, animation, games, and motion graphics with sessions and tips from industry professionals about how students can get their foot into the door of the creative industry. 

The VFX Festival Emerging Talent – Wednesday, March 9

For students currently studying in higher/further education and professionals: learn how to kick start a career with talks, presentations, panel discussions, careers, and recruitment opportunities.

The VFX Festival: The Future – Thursday, March 10

Escape to the Metaverse: for professionals and students: Learn about virtual production and the virtual world with a focus on the ‘Metaverse’ and an exploration of its future impact, opportunities, and challenges.

“The metaverse and its future impact on entertainment is being widely discussed within the screen industries,” added Escape Studios deputy dean Saint Walker. “An unexpected effect of Covid has been the increased demand for all kinds of immersive entertainment and communication solutions. We’re excited that this year’s VFX Festival will bring together experts and innovative pioneers to present the latest in virtual production and debate ways to make more 3D immersive experiences a reality.”
