Another Disney Animated Film in the Works – Details Revealed!

Walt Disney Animation Studios has yet another film in the works — and now we have additional details surrounding the 2022 movie!

Discussing Film has reported that the upcoming animated film, which is currently still untitled and is set for a Fall 2022 debut, will be directed by Don Hall and written by Qui Nguyen. Hall and Nguyen recently worked together on Walt Disney Animation’s Raya and the Last Dragon.

Roy Conli, who also worked on Raya and the Last Dragon, will produce the upcoming film.

Hall has been involved with Disney for quite some time now, as he was also the co-director of Moana and the director for 2011’s Winnie the Pooh. He worked as a story artist and supervisor on The Emperor’s New GrooveThe Princess and The Frog, and Ralph Breaks the Internet and helped work on the scripts for Meet the Robinsons and Tarzan.

Don Hall brought home an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature with Big Hero 6 in 2015.

As for Qui Nguyen, his first film screenwriting credit was for Raya and the Last Dragon. However, he is known for his work in television as he’s worked on Syfy’s Incorporated, Netflix’s The Society, and AMC’s Dispatches from Elsewhere.

And Roy Colini has been working at Walt Disney Animation Studios since 1996. He was a co-producer on The Hunchback of Notre Dame and produced Treasure PlanetTangled, and Big Hero 6. Colini also worked Raya and The Last Dragon with Don Hall and Qui Nguyen as a studio and creative leadership.

Neither plot details nor a title has been revealed at this time. The film is scheduled to release on November 23, 2022, only in theaters.
